Flat Feet
What does it mean to have flat feet?
Having flat feet, or over-pronation, is a common problem that occurs in the walking process and causes severe discomfort and inflammation of the heel and bottom of your foot.

What causes flat feet?
Obesity, pregnancy or repetitive pounding on a hard surface can weaken the arch and lead to over-pronation. People with flat feet might not experience pain immediately, and some might never suffer at all. However, when symptoms develop and become painful, walking becomes awkward and causes increased strain on the feet and calves.

How do I treat flat feet?

Over-pronation can be easily treated with inserts or arch supports designed with appropriate arch support. Properly fitting footwear is also very important. Your Foot Solutions associate will be able to help you determine what footwear will best work for you.
