If you have Diabetes and Medicare Part B, your coverage may include one pair of therapeutic shoes, three pairs of arch supports and modifications to items you already have, each calendar year (with a prescription from your doctor). That means you can take advantage of this benefit before 2011 ends, and get coverage for additional necessary shoes and inserts during the 2012 benefit period. Medicare pays up to 80% and if you have supplemental insurance, it may cover the remaining 20%.
